Collaboration project between Bata Shoe Museum and Power Athletics to celebrate Canada's 150th birthday; 2017.

Each member of the design team was asked to design a shoe that reflected Canada. The theme of my project deals with how my memories define my Canadian experience.

Excerpt from the museum poster:

"Despite my desire to chase what I don’t have, it’s the things I do have that make me who I am. I am the sum of countless memories, some of which have faded, but all of which help define what Canada means to me.
This project is a thank-you note to the people I’ve learned from, the places I’ve explored, and the moments in time that are irreplaceable. Their stories are told through patterns assembled like a patchwork that gives life to a silhouette inspired by my grandpa’s martial arts background. In some ways, they represent a means to an end. Looking back shows me the way forward, and whatever may come next, I embrace it all."
